ULTRASONIC TIDEGAUGE - SIAP+MICROS ID0710

The ID0710 sensor exploits a ceramic transducer. It emits ultrasonic pulses towards a surface and senses returning echoes; the on-board electronics performs distance calculation computing time intervals between emission and reception of pulses. To avoid spikes, the recorded value is the arithmetic mean of a programmable number of consecutive samples. This heavy-duty sensor, featuring IP65 protection, is ideally suited for marine environment. It is easily programmable, and many functions may be fine-tuned in order to compensate and correct environmental disturbances by means of 27 different parameters independently settable through 4 buttons and a 4 digits display.

Main parameters are:
Distance calibration (it is possible to force the measure for matching a reference value for instance by comparison with staff gauge)
Range setting within 0.5÷15 meters
Number of pulses per acquisition, to adjust power emission to environmental conditions and measured distance
Out of Range Span: maximum variation of measured value between two consecutive acquisitions (1÷20)
Out of Range Samples: number of measures outside the above defined range after which measure is accepted (0÷200)
Number of samples over which the arithmetic mean is calculated giving the recorded measure (1÷200)
Offset: value (positive or negative) to be added to measures
Zero zone: is the range (0.5 m ÷ full scale) ignored by the sensor; very useful when obstacles stand between the sensor and the surface to be measured.
Fine tuning of the relation between measure range (meters) and electric output (mA).

This sensor is installed in each station to verify the right functioning of the new installed sensors (radar level transducer and shaft encoder water level sensor).
