The station is located near the hydrofoil berthing, closer to the Ferrovie dello Stato Ticket Office. The tidegauge station is equipped with altimetric datum. Each datum is referred to the average sea level, measured in Genoa using the ancient Thompson tidegauge.
The datums are metallic check tags, used to determinate the altimetric level by means of high precision leveling, following the guidelines fixed by IGM (Italian Military Geographic Institute). Please see the italian version for further details.
